Today I have been playing with my new products from Tattered Angels. I have had a great time creating a rusty key hole embellishment for this card using the rusty metal naturally aged paint system. This system is so easy to use and gives really good results. I love the fact that when you dry using a heat gun the paint bubbles giving that authentic rusty look. This is a really great way of creating metal effect embellishments.

The keyhole die used on this card is from Tonic studios rococo range available from Hochanda. It is part of the home collection set. It is a beautiful die and cuts and embosses perfectly every time and it’s just asking to be altered.
Card making magic leafy embossing folder
From my stash I have used kraft card, paper flowers, die cut leaves & patterned paper.
Here’s what I did:
First of all I cut a piece of kraft card to fit a DL card blank and embossed with the leafy embossing folder. I love this embossing folder, especially when used on kraft card, it gives such a deep emboss.
I then cut 3 strips of patterned paper from the new Love story papers from Trimcraft. I distressed the edges with scissors. These papers are amazing.
Next I cut 3 keyholes from kraft card and glued them together. This gives the look of chipboard. I then used the rusty metal paint kit to give the keyhole a faux metallic finish. This paint system is so easy to use, I practiced first on some scrap card. I used a heat tool to dry the paint, causing the paint to bubble when holding it close to the paint. This effect is lovely!
I then finished the card with embellishments as shown below.
I’m really pleased with the finished look. I’m off now to alter more!
Thanks for popping by.
