How to transform coffee jars into lovely Christmas table decorations

Morning everyone, I hope your Christmas preparation is coming along nicely?

Today I’m sharing with you these table decorations I have made using empty coffee jars. They are so easy to make.

Products used

Decoart gesso
Imagination craft anthracite starlight paint
Holly leaf die from crafters companion
dried orange slices
cinnamon sticks
star anise
MDF snowflakes
wired ribbon
raffia
glittered holly leaf garland
bead garland
bay leaf
dried moss

To begin I washed and dried the jars to make sure they were dust free, then gave each one a thin coat of gesso.

Once the gesso was dry (I used a heat gun to speed this up…I’m too impatient to wait!), I sponged on 2 layers of starlight paint. I used a chopped up kitchen sponge for this. Sponging rather than brushing on the paint increases the sparkle and believe me they certainly sparkle!

Once this was dry…again heat gun used, I decorated as shown.
I wrapped wired ribbon around the middle of the jar, then wrapped raffia around this, using glue gun to secure. I then added all the embellishments over where the raffia and ribbon joined.

For added sparkle I pained the MDF snowflakes with silver paint and while the paint was still wet I sprinkled over glamour dust.

I plan to put a candle inside and they will take pride of place on my christmas table!
Thanks for popping by.
Leanne x
