crafters companion,  Scandinavian Christmas

Using mittens to make Scandinavian Christmas card

Hello again everyone.
Today I’m sharing with you how I made this Christmas card using crafters companion Scandinavian Christmas range.

This card is easy to make and is effective when only using 2 colours.
I’ve used a 6×6 card blank, but this design could be adapted to fit any card size.

Firstly emboss a piece of Kraft card cut slightly smaller than the card base. Distress the edges with scissors and then gently sand the design with a sanding block. Fix this to the card base.

Next emboss red card with border embossing folder and again distress the edges. Wrap neutral bakers twine around this and fix to card front as shown with foam pads.

Cut 2 mittens from red card and 2 cuffs from kraft card, join the mittens with a length of red bakers twine as shown. Fix to tag with foam pads ensuring the thumbs of the mittens are facing in opposite directions. Cut the small snowflake that comes with the mitten dies and use to disguise where twine has been secured to tag.
Finish tag with ribbon and twine.

Cut the merry Christmas wreath die and fix to card as shown.

And that’s it!

Thanks for popping by.

Leanne x
